Length is very important in many types of cable signals or power transits , in short lengths it may not cause a big difference , such as a 28AWG HDMI performs very well if it is under 5 meters long but it is difficult to reach the same performance if it is more than 5meters , this is due to the signal loss , longer distances require larger size cable .
